Bio: Fran Pomerantz
Fran Pomerantz is Managing Director of The Pomerantz Group, a Los Angeles-based media, entertainment and technology consulting firm specializing in the recruitment of high-level executives nationwide. The Pomerantz Group enjoys extensive personal relationships within the new media and technology sectors and provides counsel to companies in their formative stages as well as serving the executive search needs of established companies with whom it has developed long-term business connections.
The Pomerantz Group has been retained for assignments by such clients as Cinema Now, National Geographic, Paramount Digital Entertainment, Macromedia, Shockwave, and Variety. In 1998 the Digital Coast Reporter recognized Ms. Pomerantz as one of the top 50 Digital Coast executives, and she currently sits on the advisory boards of several companies, including Shoptop, Timeskeeper, and Gameworld .
Pomerantz has long been active in new media industry activities, and she is a current member the prestigious Los Angeles Digital Coast Roundtable, having served on its working committee and was a founding member of the VIC Executive Board. Ms. Pomerantz is a nationally known speaker at media and high tech industry forums, including NATPE, Digital Coast Reporter's Venture Capital Summit, e-Mediatainment World, Webnoize, NAB, Montreal Film Festival and UCLA Extension's "Translating Convergence into Job Opportunities."
Prior to forming her own company, Pomerantz spent 15 years as a senior manager for the Hamburger Hamlet restaurant chain, rising to the position of VP of Human Development with a responsibility of 35 which generated more than $42 million in revenue. Pomerantz holds a B.S. in education from Lesley College and an M.A. in educational counseling from Arizona State University. Ms. Pomerantz also contributes her time as a board member of the technology group of the City of Hope.
